Bio:
John Takeda was born into a family of Yakuza nobility, but he never felt the call for a criminal’s life. When his father was assigned to the Yakuza’s interests in California, John welcomed the chance to get away from the structured life he led and see what else was out there. He quickly took an active interest in computers and science, nearly getting into trouble with the feds as a 13-year-old hacker. One night, while taking a night stroll around his family’s northern California villa, he happened upon a falling star that forever changed his life. He was able to follow the star until it made landfall, at which point the meteorite enveloped John in a burst of cosmic radiation, burning him down to a cellular level. he was surprised that even though he sustained severe damage, his body soon began to heal at an accelerated rate. Over the next few months, he spent his evenings alone in the countryside, learning to control the cosmic energy that was now a part of his very being. He managed to keep it a secret for a long time, until his father found out and decided to showcase his abilities to the Yakuza. The Yakuza sent John on a job against what they thought was a strongly defended warehouse, but it turned out to be defended only by an elderly couple with a .22 rifle. The Yakuza boss wanted John to make an example of the couple, but he refused, and instead defeated the gang just as the FBI showed up to arrest everyone. John’s parents turned state’s evidence and went into Witness Protection, but his brother Shingo, a rising star in the Yakuza and a weapons whiz, fled back to Tokyo to lay low. That was three years ago. John is now 18 years old and a freshman at MIT. Classes are going well, but he knows that he has a gift that the humanity could use, and he is planning on applying to the GDL soon. He’s been studying Superhuman activities, and thinks he needs to act sooner rather than later. What he does know is that his brother has formed a Super-Yakuza army of mech warriors, and he intends to reclaim his position of power in the underworld. He’s also like to give a little payback to the younger brother that cost him face among his peers.
